Like our football leagues I would like to make a radical suggestion and move softball to be played in warmer, drier conditions. Wait though that would involve everyone living in a different country... Who's up for moving to Portugal or a southern US state?
Good to be back playing softball in the Premier league and a sharp reminder from the Souls of the significant step up in standard from the first division. We held our own for most of the game so looking foward to (can't be any wetter than last night) 2010.

We could play in a large bubble. That's the only way to ensure warm, dry weather in this country.
I agree, good to back playing and given the first week's results, I feel there will be a lot of close games in Premier this season. Our game appears lopsided (Caps/Batz), however it was close for much of the match until we were fortunate with our hitting late.
Hopefully those stronger teams in D1 continue to make progress, so they are willing to make that next step up. Also, the gap between D1 and D2 will continue to close, and those promoted to D1 will have a successful season.
As the numbers have dropped a bit this season, it's important for the newer, less experienced teams to remain interested. Someone on the board asked about a training day - I think if this were happening, it would be great for those who want to sharpen up their skills and give more confidence, especially those who are newer to the sport.
Finally, I expect the handicap cup and 1-day event will be successful and continue to generate more interest from D1 and D2. It's great for more players to experience a tournament format.
